Trivago is not a platform where users book hotels directly. We only compare prices and redirect traffic to booking websites. We currently do not pay based on bookings. The main reason is that we are not allowed to share booking information with third parties as we are bound by NDAs. Please check the section about how trivago commission works.

A user lands on trivago, compares prices from different partners (Expedia, Booking, etc.), and when they click out to our partners' websites, trivago earns a commission either when a clickout is made or if a booking is made.
